Deleting your account is permanent. Your learning history can't be restored afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first.
In the app
- Open AiChinese and go to Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account and data are removed from our active systems straight away.
Without the app
If you've already uninstalled AiChinese, email us from the address your account uses:
- To — nihao@ai-chinese.app
- Subject — Delete my account
We use the sending address to identify your account, so please write from the address you signed up with. We complete the deletion within 30 days and email you to confirm when it's done.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials
- Your profile and settings
- Your learning progress — streaks, XP, review schedules, lesson history
- Your saved vocabulary, decks, notes, and imported word lists
- Your written and spoken submissions, and the feedback generated on them
- Your voice recordings
- Your conversations and messages with the in-app tutor and practice partners
What may be retained
- Aggregate usage statistics — counts and totals that have already been rolled up and can no longer identify you.
- Records we have to keep — anything we're required to retain by law, or to resolve a dispute or prevent abuse. These are kept only as long as required, then deleted.
- Routine backups — deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before those backups roll over.
